I recently caught up with Cronulla Beach YHA’s owner Mike Keogh to discuss his recent trip to Thailand. Two lucky CBYHA backpackers were fortunate enough to meet up with Mike in Bangkok after landing great jobs during their stay here, and saving up all the cash they needed to add in a trip to Asia on their way home to the UK! Trips to Asia are both affordable and reasonable in terms of distance from Australia. Many backpackers who stay in Cronulla end up stopping over in an extra country or two with the money they saved up after landing a job thanks to Mike!
“Saul & Monique turned up to Cronulla Beach YHA nearly two years ago, and spent 12 months on and off here,” Mike explains. “I was so pleased that they found fantastic jobs and were able to meet me and Andy (our night manager) in Bangkok for an amazing dinner at The Moon Bar! Hard work pays off!”

Bundeena Markets By The Sea
Held on the first Sunday of every month the market runs from 9:00 to 15:00. This is an Arts & Crafts market and it showcases the works of local artisans in ceramics, pottery, jewellery, handbags, quilts, folk art, photography and much more.
Bundeena is a small community within a national park that is based around the waterfront, with beautiful views in all directions, so bring a picnic lunch and make a day of it and enjoy one of the many walks that dot the area.
Bundeena Markets by the Sea is situated in the North-East corner of the Royal National Park, on the Southern edge of Port Hacking and is only a 20 minute ferry ride from Cronulla. The final ferry departs Bundeena 19:00 weekdays and 20:00 weekends.
